The Matthew Good Foundation
Why we fund The Matthew Good Foundation
The John Good Group donates money to the Matthew Good Foundation every year to enable charitable giving by the business and its 100 employees.
The team members behind the Matthew Good Foundation are true experts in the charity sector. They specialise in identifying valuable causes and projects, and their understanding of due diligence within the charity sector and social initiatives ensures fairness, compliance and top results.
Thanks to these significant donations from John Good Group, the Matthew Good Foundation is able to deliver real change in communities both here in the UK and abroad.
Donating to special causes around the world
Since its inception, the Foundation has donated more than £820,000 to good causes in the UK and abroad that are close to our employees’ hearts. Our company is proud to align with the Matthew Good Foundation and provide the financial support necessary to run daily operations, allowing 100% of donations to be directed straight to charity projects and social entrepreneurs.
Empowering employees to make a difference
The Foundation supports our employees’ charitable activity in multiple ways, including monthly draws to win donations for the charity of their choice, championing small voluntary initiatives, double matching staff fundraising efforts, and providing funds and guidance to start their own grass-roots projects.
The Foundation also believes in giving back to the community not only financially, but also in terms of time. That’s why we offer our employees paid leave that they can spend volunteering, allowing them to apply their specialised skills and talents to help charities reach their goals.
Who was Matthew Good?
The Matthew Good Foundation was established following the passing of Matthew Good, on 26th June 2011, while running a marathon for charity. He was the sixth generation to work in the John Good Group family business and was incredibly passionate about making a positive difference to our employees and our communities.
The Matthew Good Foundation pays tribute to the life of Matthew by continuing his legacy of striving to make our world a better place to live in, both today and for generations yet to come.
