Inspire Ignite are making a real difference to young people through the encouragement of personal development, confidence and self-esteem.

Founded in 2013 by Mental Health Nurse, Sue Altass and Social Worker Hannah Cheshire, Inspire Ignite was created to enable schools and colleges to have access to programmes that help children and young people. From helping them understand what makes them tick, to learning how to make choices that will have a positive impact on their wellbeing.

Inspire Ignite have been awarded a £500 Champion Grant by Adam Walsh, CEO of John Good Group. After deciding what to do with the funding awarded, Inspire Ignite have incredibly given 4 lucky primary schools the chance to win an assembly from Inspire Ignite.

This assembly will help teach children how to nurture their self-confidence and self-esteem. By developing a sense of self, the children learn about how to express themselves in a way that supports the other person to listen.

They know funding is tight right now in our locals so this assembly would offer:

  • A deeper understanding of self
  • Time to think
  • Cultivating true compassion & control
  • To ultimately open the young learner’s minds to the prospect of building a positive mindset

They have a package of 8 books, all following Positive Parrot and Negative Newt. Throughout the series of the books, Positive Parrot takes Negative Newt on a journey so that he can better understand the Emotional Vocabulary Word that the book is introducing. These books encourage discussions between you and the child to help explore the understanding of each theme.

During the assembly, Sue Atlas and Hannah Cheshire will both help to open young learners’ minds to the prospect of building a positive mindset.

To be eligible to win the competition, you must be either a Primary School in Hull or in The East Riding of Yorkshire. Anyone from parents, school governors to teachers can put in apply to win the competition. The winners will be chosen on the 5th of June.

All you must do now, is fill out the form here and Inspire Ignite will be in contact with you if you have won!
