We are looking for two Business Travel Consultant Apprentices to join our Good Travel Management team with the primary responsibility of providing administrative support to business travel consultants. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop your skills on the job whilst being given the opportunity to train with our training provider for 20% of your working time.
The Role:
As a Business Travel Consultant Apprentice, you will be responsible for providing an efficient, pro-active and cost-effective service to corporate clients. You will provide an efficient, proactive, and consultative service and ensure the highest level of customer service is adhered to at all times.
The role will include:
- Handle incoming enquiries by telephone, e-mail or online in a timely, efficient and professional manner, adhering to any agreed service agreements for specific customers.
- Gain a full working knowledge of selling IATA published, Nett, ITX and Low Cost Carrier fares and their benefit to both Good Travel and the customer.
- Select the most appropriate travel solutions for our customers.
- Gain a good working knowledge of UK rail information and ticketing systems to provide an informative and professional service to customers.
- Promote other travel related services such as car rental, hotels, overseas rail, passport and visas, chauffeur drive and any other ad-hoc requirements.
- Ensure that all reservations made are correctly loaded into Amadeus booking files, with notepads of all fares quoted, conversations with customers or suppliers. This ensures that other consultants along with our 24hour emergency supplier can retrieve a booking and have a full knowledge of the history and fares quoted.
- Gain confidence in using new tools introduced by Good Travel such as Amadeus, Host Keys and Ticket changer etc. to ensure consistency and accuracy across all locations.
- Gain a full understanding of the Travcom accounting system used by Good Travel, and to ensure that invoices and credits are raised accurately and promptly.
- Ability to demonstrate costs savings for clients through the capture of data in the booking process for use in the Management Information Reports.
- Gain a full understanding of the cost implications of booking methods and to ensure that the most cost effective solutions are utilised.
Full training will be provided on all aspects of the role.
About You:
- Provide high quality customer service through acting in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
- IT literacy with a good working knowledge of a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to assist in out-of-hours work as required.
- Undertake duties other than your normal office duties from time to time.
- Maths/English qualification grade 4/C or above
- GCSE or equivalent
