Dove House Hospice was recently awarded a £500 Champion Grant from Chloe Yarwood, Senior Business Support Consultant at Good Travel Management.

This donation was incredibly personal to Chloe. Her Grandma, Jackie had recently passed away from Cancer and had spent four days being cared for at the Dove House Hospice. The experience had a huge impact on Chloe and her family during a tough time. The Hospice provided a wealth of food, drink, care and support, not just for Jackie but for the whole family too.

Champion Grants are an amazing initiative as part of the John Good Group Employee Giving Programme. This grant helps empower our employees by giving them the opportunity to apply once every quarter to receive a grant to award to a charity of their choosing.

Our facilitators of the Employee Giving Programme, Matthew Good Foundation, play a vital role in supporting our employees and non-profits effectively. There strong connections enable our programme to go further than a £500 donation and Chloe received another £500 fund of garden furniture, a large, dedicated bench, arbour and planters for the gardens in the Hospice, from the team at Recycling Unlimited and Matthew Good Foundation. This was a meaningful gift in memory of Jackie for Chloe and her family.

Chloe said, “Thank you to John Good Group, Matthew Good Foundation, Recycling Unlimited and Dove House for making this possible. It is a great way for me and my family to remember my grandma and for people who are at Dove House to enjoy in the garden. I am grateful for the employee giving programme as the bench is not something I could have achieved on my own.”

John Good Group’s Employee Giving Programme is here to help empower our employees to make a difference to our local community. Whether they’re based in London or Hull, everyone can get involved and have an impact. Thousands of innovative local charities and non-profit organisations make a huge difference to society, yet many need the help of securing the funding and support they need to deliver the impact they are capable of. This is why we make it easy for our employees to engage in empowering charities such as Champion Grants.
