We are thrilled to announce that Rachel Lowe and Michelle Taft have been shortlisted for this year’s Women in Business Awards 2024.

Rachel Lowe, Chief People Officer here at John Good Group, has been shortlisted for the Breaking Boundaries Award. This is an incredible achievement for Rachel as she is dedicated to promoting inclusivity and ensuring that every employee is recognised for their unique contributions. Her effort towards empowering women in the workplace is making a lasting impact on the business world and those around her. From bringing in our Living the Dream initiative and Long Service Awards to implementing a wide range of training and leadership, Rachel is a credit to the John Good Group.

Michelle Taft, both Matthew Good Foundation’s Executive Director and John Good Group’s Non-Executive Director, has been shortlisted for the Employee of the Year Award. Michelle has achieved remarkable milestones over the past two years, from making a positive impact on John Good Group’s people, planet, and performance strategy and with her leadership, the Foundation reached £1 million in donations, with 90% going towards small charitable organisations.

Adam Walsh, CEO of John Good Group, is thrilled about the announcement, commenting, “It’s great to see members of our team being recognised for their efforts in the shortlist for these awards.

Rachel has made a huge impact at John Good Group since her arrival in 2023 and we’ve an employee experience we can be proud of. She’s put in place good governance and helped to create a culture that is candid, comfortable talking about the bigger issues and most importantly, genuinely supportive and caring.

Michelle’s work for the group, driving our social impact initiatives, has been nothing short of inspirational, since I arrived in 2022. Her commitment to working with micro charities to generate greater impact and help them tell their stories is incredibly powerful work and leaves a legacy.

We’ve got lots of great people in our businesses, male and female, but our ladies are getting all the plaudits at the moment. We’re waiting to see how Chelsea and Sarah get on having recently being shortlisted for travel industry awards, and now Rachel and Michelle for these regional accolades.

Good luck to them all and let’s bring home some trophies!”

This is a credit to the women in John Good Group, inspiring those around them professionally and personally. The Women in Business Awards recognise and celebrate the excellent work being carried out in Hull and the surrounding areas so we can’t wait to attend the event in hopes of coming home winners.
